Tutta la potenza espressiva, sensuale e colorata tipica della ricerca artistica di Lady Aiko è racchiusa in queste due opere. Se apparentemente possono sembrare opere distinte, esse sono accomunate dal fattore spaziale: se pur in antitesi una di fronte all’altra, nascono da un dialogo e da una graduale scoperta della stanza da parte dell’artista. Due figure inginocchiate che incorniciano l’entrata, come bidimensionali e contemporanee cariatidi, proteggono ed esortano lo spettatore nel suo movimento e passaggio nelle stanze adiacenti. Sull’altra parete una grande e illusoria tela, dall’importante cornice d’oro intarsiata, appare architettonicamente incorniciata se viene vista, cambiando direzione, dall’opposta entrata. È proprio questa duplice visione, a mio avviso, la chiave di lettura del tema di quest’opera: l’amore in due delle sue forme più pure e contrastanti. Da una parte l’amore per l’arte è rappresentato dalle due figure femminili inginocchiate che sorreggono due bombolette in un atto pregno di una sacralità del tutto contemporanea; dall’altra l’amore di un abbraccio e di un bacio, la tenerezza del gesto in contrasto con l’acidità dei colori fluo. Un’opera pensata e costruita in perfetta armonia con lo spazio, che invita lo spettatore a un movimento, a un andare e tornare nella stanza per scoprirla e apprezzarla in tutta la sua carica e potenza estetica.

he expressive power, sensual and coloured, typical of the artistic research by Lady Aiko can be found in these two artworks. At a glance they may seem like two different pieces of artwork, but they share a spatial factor: they may be antagonistic in front of each other, but they are born from a dialogue with the room and the artist’s gradual discovery of it. Two kneeling figures that frame the entrance, like two-dimensional and contemporary caryatid that protect and incite the spectator to walk through to the next room. A large and illusory canvas with a dominant golden inlaid frame can be found on the other wall, which when looking at it, from the other entrance, whilst changing direction, appears architecturally framed. This double point of view is the key to interpreting the artwork: love in two of its purest and contrasting forms. On one side there is love for art, represented by the two females figures kneeling down and holding two spray cans in an act full of contemporary sacredness. On the other side there is love for an embrace and kiss, with the tenderness of the gesture in contrast with the acidity of the fluorescent colors. An artwork that has been thought of and constructed in perfect harmony with its surrounding space, that invites the spectator to move, to come and go into the room to discover and appreciate it in all its aesthetic charge and power.
