In un momento storico in cui la forza culturale di una metropoli non può essere valutata unicamente in base alla qualità e alla quantità della sua offerta artistica, ci si trova di fronte alla necessità di intrecciare l’arte con la vita di chi abita le città, diffondendo così “il vizio della bellezza”. La street art è senza dubbio uno dei migliori argomenti a proposito. Da queste riflessioni nasce una nuova generazione di operatori culturali che sente il desiderio di avvicinare l’arte alle persone, facendo appello ad artisti in grado di produrre opere sovradimensionate, capaci di rivoluzionare lo spazio che le circonda e le ospita. L’arte che recupera spazi dalla città per la città, trasformandosi di fatto in un’arte pubblica e contemporanea, risulta oggi la più interessante alternativa all’ acromia delle architetture moderne.

In a historical moment in which the cultural strength of a city cannot be determined solely through the quality and quantity of the art it offers, we are finding ourselves faced with the necessity to interlace art with the everyday life of its inhabitants, and in doing so spreading a “vice for beauty”. Street Art is no doubt one of the best arguments for this. From these thoughts is born a new generation of cultural operators that wants to bring art closer to the people; appealing to artists capable of producing over-enlarged pieces of art, capable of revolutionising the space that surrounds and hosts them. It is an art, that recovers spaces from the city and gives them back to the city, and in doing it transforms itself de facto into public and contemporary art. This is the most interesting alternative to a bland modern architecture.
